#14 - The Prototype Speedboard

The prototype speedboard is done. Two plys of 1/8" bamboo, a 1/4" x 3" maple stringer, and three layers of 5.5oz carbon/kevlar twill weave make this deck very stiff in all directions. It's currently undergoing testing and I should start getting feedback on it pretty soon but I sure as hell enjoyed riding it.

#13 - Eithne's Rocket Deck

Eithne gave me free reign with the build and so I built this deck with a board building competition in mind. I don't really have a whole lot to say about this deck at the moment, just that I'm really really pleased with the way it turned out.

Quick details:

Two layers of 1/8" bamboo, carbon and kevlar fabric under the hand cut mahogany stringer, 34.5" length, 9.5" wide, and a 25.5" wheelbase.

#12 - Kayla's cruiser

My niece spotted an Eastside Tabor at Portland's Saturday Market not too long ago and decided that she just had to have a longboard with a handle. I decided a nice diamond tail shape would be just about right.

#11 - Jeff's double drop

Another double drop, this one's built with only three layers instead of four because Jeff's such a light weight. It's got more flex than you'd want for speed but Jeff's just going to use it for laps around Greenlake and it'll be just right.

#10 - the dancer

This is really just a proof of concept deck. It's a simple build made out of a single piece of 3/4" bamboo ply with a little kick added to both the nose and the tail. Total length is 51", 9" wide, and a 36" wheelbase. With Paris 180s, 1/8" risers, and 70mm wheels it doesn't even get close to wheelbite.

Nice fabric graphic on the bottom.

Clear sand grip on the bottom.

Good stuff.

#9 - demo deck

I've been getting a lot of interest in my decks just by walking around the public market with one under my arm. The two decks I ride myself, numbers one and three, get fair amount of attention but neither one is a goo representation of what I'm capable of. Number one is just a simple flat deck with some camber and three is starting to get pretty beat up from scraping curbs and the like.

So I built this, the dimensions are pretty close to that of my first build but it's not symmetrical, also it has a mild "W" concave and a mahogany stringer. I used three layers of bamboo veneer with one layer running bias to get the flex right for my weight.

Of the boards that I've built that are mine, this is by far my favorite one for just cruising.

#8 - Brandon's deck

Brandon is a local artist that does some fantastic work. I made this double drop for him with a simple primer finish. Nothing exciting just yet but I'll try and get an update when he's done with it.
